World TB Day Events March 17 - 24, 2025


The Emory/Georgia TRAC hosted a number of events for World TB Day 2025. The schedule of events is below.

Friday March 21

John Green in conversation with Laurel Bristow - Everything Is TuberculosisA Cappella Books, the Emory Center for Public Scholarship and Engagement and Emory/Georgia TB Research Advancement Center proudly welcomed #1 internationally bestselling author John Green and special guest Laurel Bristow to Emory's Glenn Memorial Church Auditorium for a discussion of John’s new book, "Everything Is Tuberculosis: The History and Persistence of Our Deadliest Infection."

Monday March 24

The TRAC World TB Day Symposium was a fantastic opportunity to come together and hear from Erin McConnell with the advocacy organization Treatment Action Group, Karen Reyna with SomosTB a Spanish-language TB support group, with scientific presentations from out of town guests Ashutosh Pathak (University of Georgia), Hardy Kornfeld (U Mass Chan Medical School) and Mariana Buziashvli (Georgian National Center for TB and Lung Disease). It was also an opportunity to recognize awards, promotions and the many reviewers who have served over the course of the TRAC to review TRAC pilot award applications and grant proposals for mock study sections.
